Guest Speaker Jenny ClementJenny Clement is the Accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Lead within the Inclusion, Innovation, Reconciliation & Healing (IIRH) Portfolio at Centennial College. She self-identifies as a person with multiple disabilities, where she developed a passion for the creation of accessible environments. These environments are created to allow individuals from diverse backgrounds to participate and have equitable opportunities. Jenny completed her graduate studies in Social Work and Critical Disability Studies, where she focused on the employment of persons with disabilities, along with advocating for a Bill of Rights for consumers with various disabilities living in community-based supported living units. Jenny is an animal lover with a specific affection for dogs. In her spare time, she loves to relax while watching Reality Television Shows such as "90 Day Fiancé", "Little People, Big World" and "Teen Mom".
 

Guest Speaker Heather Holly

Heather Holly has achieved both diplomas (Early Childhood Education & Resource Teaching) through Centennial College in addition to acquiring her BASc in Child Development at the University of Guelph-Humber. She has been in the field of early learning for over 20 years, currently as an area coordinator for the City of Toronto; Parks and Recreation, Adapted and Inclusive unit. Heather considers herself to be colorful, dramatic, independent, and creative. She is dedicated to individual strength-based teaching methodologies, advocacy, and mentorship. While being committed to providing a holistic and engaging learning environment for all, she also champions the artistic approach to the perfect mud pie.

 
Guest Speaker Jesse Preston

Jesse Preston is an Employment Specialist with Epilepsy Toronto. Nine years of specialized expertise in disability employment and job retention. Mainly in the area of neurological disabilities including Epilepsy, Learning Disabilities, ADHD and Executive Functions.  My work entails developing comprehensive data-driven job search and retention strategies and providing disability employment solutions.In the realm of job search, my goal is to unleash the potential of job seekers by assisting them in finding employment opportunities that naturally align with their disability profile.For job retention, my focus is on aiding those on disability-related absences to return to work through effective accommodation strategies, assisting employers in implementing accommodations and crafting solutions that address unique challenges while fostering inclusivity and productivity. Additionally, I am a Centennial College Project Management Alumni and a former START Smart mentor for The Centre for Accessible Learning and Counselling Services (CALCS) formally known as CSD.

Guest speaker Alana SmithMeet Alana Simpson, a seasoned communications professional with 10 years of experience. She has spent her career in agencies and start-ups, as well as freelancing. Her skills include managing media relations, influencer marketing, social media marketing, as well as developing holistic marketing and communications strategies from the ground up, and more. Due to the range of clients that she has worked with, Alana is skilled in translating niche language into accessible content in both English and French. She also has boundless ideas, tireless enthusiasm, and an unshakeable drive to help the people and places she works for reach their goals and stand out in whatever industry they inhabit. You'll find Alana creating content to help build awareness about what it's like working as an ADHDer. She mentors students to help them advocate for themselves and express what they need to succeed. Her aim is to eventually collaborate with agencies to help these organizations create safe and healthy workplaces for all neurotypes.
